How Entrepreneurial Are You? - Business Mindset Assessment Test

Are you business minded?

Here is a Business Mindset Assessment Test. The following questions deal with your personal background, behavioural characteristics, and lifestyle patterns and how they are related to your Entrepreneurial Mindset or Business Mindset. Get a piece of paper and answer the questions by indicating these rates:

4 - Definitely Yes
3 - Probably Yes
2 - Probably No
1 - Definitely No

Part 1: Attitudes Toward Risk Taking

1. I am prepared to make sacrifices in my family life and to take a cut in pay to succeed in my own business.
2. I take risks for the thrill of it.
3. I enjoy doing something just to prove that I can.
4. I enjoy tackling a task without knowing all the potential problems.

Part 2: Personal Initiative and Discipline

5. Once I decide to do something, I will do it and nothing can stop me.
6. When I begin a task, I set clear goals and objectives for myself.
7. After a severe setback in a project, I am able to pick up the pieces and start over again.
8. I am usually able to come up with more than one way to solve a problem.
9. I believe in organizing my tasks before getting started.
10. I find myself constantly thinking up new ideas.
11. I can concentrate on one subject for extended periods of time.
12. I find unexpected energy resources as I tackle things I like.
13. I am likely to work long hours to accomplish a goal.

Part 3: General Attitudes

14. When I do a good job, I am satisfied in knowing personally that the job has been well done.
15. I like the feeling of being in charge.
16. When I think of the future, I envision myself running my own business.
17. I try to do a better job than is expected of me.
18. Personal satisfaction means more to me than having money to spend on myself.
19. I try to find the benefits in a bad situation.
20. I persist when others tell me it can’t be done.
21. I enjoy being able to make my own decisions on the job.
22. I can accept failure without admitting defeat.
23. I strive to use past mistakes as learning processes.
24. I find that answers to problems come out of nowhere.
25. I prefer to make final decisions on my own.

Sum up your scores and see this interpretation:

Above 75 Definitely Entrepreneurial
Your combination of personal background and behaviour and lifestyle patterns should give you the basis for a successful business.

50–74 Possibly Entrepreneurial
You might have the basis for succeeding in your own business. The process of preparing your business plan can help clarify your entrepreneurial orientation. If the information that you gather excites you about the prospect of running your own business, you will probably do well. On the other hand, if the prospect of running your own business scares you, think carefully about whether or not to proceed.

26–49 Probably Not Entrepreneurial
Other possibilities may be more suitable for you.

Under 25 Definitely Not Entrepreneurial
This is self-explanatory; you will probably work best as an employee.

Regardless of your score, discuss the results with your friends, primarily your family and closest friends. They may see a side of you that you do not see. Their comments, combined with your score on the assessment, will provide you with a very good indication of success in your own business.

Now that you've known the levels of your business mind now lets start that business!

The Right Mindset for Abundance

One of my best mentors in being truly rich and financial freedom is no other than the best motivational preacher - Bro. Bo Sanchez. Here's one powerful anecdote he shared on what should be the right mindset for abundance:

One morning, an Angel appears in front of you.

And the Angel says, “I’ll give you a gift. You have a choice.” The Angel hands over a scroll to you.

With trembling fingers, you open it. On the parchment, you read the following text…

Please Choose One Gift

Gift 1: Ten million pesos will appear on your lap right now.

Or…

Gift 2: You’ll learn how to earn money. On the first two years, you earn nothing. Zero. But on your third year of learning, you earn P100,000. After that, your profit increases by 20% every year.

Now tell me, what would you choose?

Believe me, it’s so tempting to choose Gift 1.

Because you can buy whatever you want.

P10M is so much more than P100,000.

But don’t be deceived.

Gift 1 is cold cash. Nothing else.

Gift 2 is wisdom, character growth, skill development, increased self-esteem, strong relationships, and yes, money too. (Let’s do the Math: If you chose Gift 2, thirty years later, you’ll be earning P23M a year. Not a bad choice, right?)

Gift 1 (P10M) can disappear in a few years. Not only that, but money without wisdom is toxic. It can kill people and break-up families.

Gift 2 will last your entire lifetime.

So friend, its easy and simple - always chose wisdom rather than money.

Remember, money is temporary - fleeting. While wisdom stays with you forever.

1 Day Left - The Great 7 Lessons

Today is the last day of my challenge..waaahh!!

But before I officially call to an end the 90 Day Challenge, aside from all the powerful life changing lessons and money making strategies I posted on this blog, let me share to you the Great 7 Lessons I have learned and experienced in this 90 day challenge.

1. HAVE POWERFUL GOALS

Who would have thought I would get to join this challenge and was actually able to change my life in 90 days? None! The string of events that happened before and during the challenge up to this very date still amazes me. But I wouldn't have done it without this goal - earn 1 million in 90 days.

I am a living example how powerful goals can lead a wonderfully lived life. I challenged myself to get a million in 90 days and this very goal changed my values, beliefs, and everything that it made me truly wealthy.

2. YOU ATTRACT SUCCESS

Looking back on the past 90 days, I will state one true conviction - I LET THE UNIVERSE MAKE IT HAPPEN. It was I who opened up myself to all the opportunities, all the diamonds, that lie around me and the rest was up to God's Hand - the Universe. The people that comes in time that I need them, the trials that challenged me in time I need to learn a new lesson,  and the opportunities that come that connects the past opportunities is all unexplainable. How did I do it? I let the believed that the universe will give it to me.

3. IT'S ALL ABOUT YOUR LOVES

Each of us is specifically designed to do and bring in something into the world. That's what we have to really figure out - and work on it hard. We need to know what are our true loves! And simply stated our loves is something WE WOULD DIE FOR! This is your very last day on earth and there's nothing else you would do but that!

So where does money come in the picture? We need it to do our loves - at a more remarkable scale. As discovered in the challenge, my loves is to motivate and inspire people. Yup, I can do that, maybe 1 or 2 a day, but I cant reach out the other millions more. That's where money comes in.

4. CREATE A NAME FOR YOURSELF

After figuring out my loves, now I am creating a name for myself.

Remember, its not a monument, nor a building named after me, but its a something that will last and live in the hearts of people - my name. Partially, you will need this to increase your wealth but also you will need one to increase your true wealth - relationships with people. It should come a time that when someone tells your name they would automatically associate you with something significant and lasting.

5. TRUE SUCCESS IS HOLISTIC

A true millionaire succeeds in all aspects of his life: health, career, relationships, and spirituality. Fortunately, this challenge taught me this very important lesson. I have greatly improved my becoming more fit, became more efficient on my jobssssss, improved my relationship with family and dabby and of course my relationship with God.

6. GIVE YOUR WEALTH  ALL AWAY

Because after a few months you can come up with the same amount you have given up. It's not the money that matters, it's what you are that matters.

Besides, you don't need material things at life's end, right? Oh I just realized that I do really need more wealth because I have so little to give away! hehehe

and the top lesson is....

7. IN THE END, STILL ITS' THE RELATIONSHIP THAT MATTERS

Let me tell you how I spent my last day of the challenge.

We had a little gathering here at our home, of course, with my mentor Kuya, and Jan his son, and Tita Glo his wife. It was one good fellowship.

Actually, we prepared for 10 people, but only them showed up! But to my surprise, what I have given reached out to more people than I expected. Aside from us here at home, two of my father's workers were given, a very supportive couple friend of my parents were given, and even the birthing home where my sister is on duty were also given.

We also had a wonderful short chat with my parents on some concerns at home. But what amazed me in the middle of our talk was how close and open we have been compared to before. I realized that all those times I have created a wall around me by creating very high expectations from them that hindered me from seeing them as they truly are. Never have we become this much closer.

Plus, I ended it with a romantic date with Dabby. With all the validations of the facts in the book Men are From Mars, Women are from Venus. The book helps so BIG TIME!

You know what? Starting this blog, as I would post in social bookmarking sites like Digg, Stumbleupon, etc. I would put this blog under the label "business". But I have noticed that in the next half of the all the posts, I started to put it under "People".

Amazing.

Ladies and Gentlemen, its all about people...about relationships.

So you see, you can take all the wealth I have away, keep me with my relationships, and I'll create that wealth double than what you can take away. But take my relationships and leave my wealth with me, I'll die the short today.

P.S.
You might want to ask how much I have earned.

Here it is! More than a million worth of opportunities waiting for me.

2 Days More! - What Happened?

This was supposed to be the very exciting climactic part of the challenge!!
Hanz 2 days more!!!!!!

I'm supposed to be on high, elevated, thrilled and everything! Right?

But why oh why??

I really don't know.

Did I fail the challenge that it turned out like this? Did I mess up again?
Did everything turned out to be of nothing?

I found peace. That's why.

I found direction.
I found guidance.
I have built foundation.

12 then 11 days Left - The Ocean of Miracles

With my previous post on opportunities collide you might see how things have been over and above me lately. How on earth will I manage to do all those??

Yes, I mention to do it stage by stage right? Exactly. But then again, how will I do it stage by stage? What next? Which one first? How about all the obstacles?

One Word:
Miracles

I have a confession to make. Yep, I was a seminarian for over 6 years and honestly, it came to a point that I became so used to all the spirituality thingy that I became so immune. Maybe because I was too influenced by my being a psychology major that my spirituality rating dropped. Prayed a lot less, slept during the mass, and talked more of religion less.

At lost, that's when I found the teaching of Bo Sanchez. He taught me how to be spiritual in a material world by being simply being practical. Yup, its very possible to be close to God by not praying too much and too long and not overly talking about religion and the bible.

Yet, again Bo has enlightened me big time when I read his article You Are Surrounded By and Ocean of Miracles - the clear point: do what you have to do and God will do the rest. Simple.

I am a worrier, that's for sure. I was used to tell people that I was born pessimist. I worry about things going wrong. But however, in this 90 day challenge, I have learned to soften up and take big risks. But still the burden of a "what if" future worries me a lot especially that I have taken so much opportunities now. And so all the "how" and "what ifs" starts to drive me crazy. But now, here's my answer...

"Just do what I am supposed to do everyday, stage by stage, then God will do the rest."

Let me share you one miracle:

I read Bo's article exactly at the right time when I needed it most.

23 Days Left - The Most Powerful Question

I had one of the most powerful days of my life after hearing a powerful inspiring story and powerfully inspiring three people with that story and it powerfully changed their lives at that instant and with the help of this powerful gripping question...

What if this is your last day on earth? What will you do?

Powerful right?

The story was that of Kuya Anthony Dy, one of the lives we'd include in our upcoming best-selling book, who was a tangled up in serious drug addiction for 8 years and now is a man with a powerful mission of helping out the less fortunate. And that was the same question he asked himself that lead him to have a great dream aligned to God's dream.

After our interview, I was literally pumped up that I shared that same question and a background of the man behind that question to two of my teamleaders during lunch. Typically, their answer would be...

"Spend time with my family and arranged things before I depart"

But I sprang back,

"Yeah Yeah, but you see, that would only take, say 2 hours of your time, what would you do in the next 22 hours?"

Silence. A looooooooooooooooong silence. "Tell me when you will have your answer."

"Sure sir, we'll get back to you when we'll have an answer."

Later that afternoon, I was asked to take an IQ exam as a requirement for promotion. I was really planning to fail it, promotion was an option I wouldn't consider yet. However, I decided to just enjoy it learning from my race story, but I ended up inspiring the test facilitator with her exclamation of "Kuya, I will resign!"

How?

With that powerful question.

What if this is your last day on earth? What will you do?

Plus, with Gary Vaynerchuk's powerful "There is no reason to do sh*t you hate" and do what you love and living your dream, Jim Rohn's increasing your market value, and my version of it - out of the rat race. My aim was to present to her that she is MORE than she think she could be. That simple. But in the end, it's all up to her.

I was really fulfilled but my rat-race job stopped me because I still need to make some rat-race reports. However, at the back of my head leaving the exam room I asked myself...

"What if this is my last day on earth? What will my do?

"Doing just that."

25 Days Left - The BIG Dilemma

"I am dying to resign!!!"

I cannot contain the opportunities that lay in front of me lately these days. The turn of events within the last days of the 90-day challenge have opened promising doors ahead and I so want to step my foot in all of them. Finally I would be out of the rat race, BUT there is a very big BUT! I still do not have enough financial stability to support my family. You see, I'm the only income earner in the family. So I'm in a pretty deep dilemma lately.

Just last night, I stumbled on this powerful, rocking video of Gary Vaynerchuk: Do What You Love (No Excuses!). Here it is:

And you know what? this video sorted out things in my head. Here are my insights:

There is no reason to do sh*t you hate

Exactly. Hear Hear. This is why I won't resign just yet. Yep, I love my work, I just hate the fact that I'm working for somebody else!! I know, I'll be missing a lot of opportunities while I'm working there. If you could only see the mess on my to-do list in this laptop's sticky notes. With the book, businesses, LOJ, my internet plans, and all its waaaay to tempting to get out. But, like what I've posted, I'm exploiting my work to train myself to become a motivational speaker and coach. (I recently discovered how my writing skills have improved, never did anyone refused on my proposal letters lately!)

You need to hustle!

However, a few seconds ago, I made a decision to do double time on this. I have to learn as fast as I can on all these. My major project is to duplicate myself in the workplace, nurture leaders with my mindset, just by then will I resign. And because of this...

Legacy is greater than currency

This is what I am mainly after-my core desire. Duplicate. Leave a mark on all my team members. A name for myself.

But thinking practically, how could I support my family if I cut off my income, as what Gary said..

You don't get money for doing what you love...I lost a sh*tload of money for doing what I love

He maybe right, but with the us GEMs - Group of Enlightened Millionaires - we'll prove him wrong. At this stage of my life he may be right, but as you can see, he said something that encourages me...

Patience...Small niches...can grow Crazy...if he's patient enough.. he's gonna be huge!

I know I'm gonna be huge. I'm sure about that! I may only have a handful of fans, but they're my fans now.  I just need to tell myself over and over again, if I'll focus on earning fast cash to make my exit out of the rat race, I might just lose the cash fast! I haven't even fully established my millionaire mind as shown in my attitude during the night race, see?

All I need to do right now is do small but powerful steps one at a time in this journey.
And still enjoying every step of it.

26 Days Left - I Ran 10K for About an Hour and I Messed Up!

Honestly, I was so hesitant to run the Energizer Night Race after what loss had come into our family with Mama Ling gone. But I asked myself, if Mama Ling is to be asked he'd surely want me to run. I know how much she wanted me to "exercise" after seeing how big I have become since she came last January. Too bad, she'd didn't have the chance to see how much I have improved with my body.

And so I moved forward and join the race - to conquer myself, overcome my grief and celebrate life!

With me were Jan, Kuya, and Kuya Lee and it was one amazing experience! Whew!We registered with the 10 kilometer ran for it was only the last slot available aside from the 3k and 5k. And it was so worth it, aside from the free head lights from energizer. Cool!

So fast forward, yup I finished the raise in about an hour something. I wasn't able to see the clock for I was eyeing the finish line! I was ahead of  the three with Kuya Lee following me, and Kuya then Jan.

So where did I mess up????

It was when Kuya asked us two questions.

Did you enjoy the race?

Ummmmm...I finished the race...hihihihi

Did you have any new bright ideas?

Ummmmmm...10..9..8..(smile)..4..3..2..1

This was where I messed up.

Life is not all about finishing the race, it's about enjoying the race!

And so I realized how the REAL (and at this moment- the now OLD) Hanz took auto-pilot during the race. My basic instinct towards things like this was to finish it to the best I can no matter what! For me it was a competition. Tell you, I never stopped nor slowed down during the entire race. I didn't stop because I know I would be very tired if I stopped or slowed down. I was only looking forward to finishing the race. And nothing else. While I was running I was really able to remember Paulo Coelho's story in the book The Alchemist,

“The Secret of Happiness lies in looking at all the wonders of the world and never forgetting the two drops of oil in the spoon.”

This "instict" of mine was deeply rooted in my academe world, purely motivated to be on top. I was like a horse in a calesa, or a typical rat-race employee who does only what he's told to do. All the time, in running, my goal was to simply finish the race without stopping. And so when I finished the race, I felt the same feeling I got during graduation,
" Oh yes, you finished the race, so what?"

And upon realizing this I begin to smile. Yup, I messed up a race, but I learned one lung-tearing-knee-binding-foot-killing life experience I will never learn anywhere else...

Life is not all about finishing the race, it's about enjoying the race!

NB. You know how Jan and Kuya enjoyed the race? They had fun every step of the way, interviewing racers, Jan endorsing out names, Hurling URLS, looking for gorgeously inspiring racers, speeding up then walking, eating snickers, and came up with one BIG idea they haven't told me yet! Now that's the REAL race!

35 Days to Go - My Dreamboard

Do you know what this is?

All millionaires know and understand what this is power of visualization...

You might ask why I had just made my dreamboard at this time of my journey. This should've been posted back in 88 days left. But this 90 day challenge is a journey of endless self-discovery. If i posted this back then, I'm pretty sure it would all be cars and houses. But this one here, has all my REAL dreams, my dreams with value and purpose. Not just materials but achievements that are priceless.

I need not explain this...
it speaks for itself.

36 Days More - Living Your Dream

I just came from work, and the first thing I did was to turn on the laptop, log in to my blog and post this. It's 10:46 in the evening and dinner can wait because I have to tell the world that I just had experience what it feels to do the thing you love the most at its best...inspiring people!

I spent the rest of the afternoon having a talk to one of the supervisors of my team and it was so fulfilling that I can feel living my dream of touching lives and motivating people.

It started with a little chat about a small business start-up. I was struggling not to sleep while typing a report and he was beside me working. And so I opened up to him what I shared to another employee which was also his neighbor of starting up a distilled water distribution in their place. I opened to him the idea, its an open market, with little investment, and semi-passive income. He was so thrilled of it and I told him to strike on it tomorrow because it's his day off. You would really notice his face lit-up with enthusiasm. And I was even more motivated to share to him my insights because he kept on with the conversation.

The turning point was when I shared to him what I have been doing - the 1 million 90 day challenge. His face was totally puzzled. Explaining to him of becoming a millionaire without the money was like explaining molecular biology to a 5 year old. But soon, with just the right examples, he was able to see my point but was not able to grasp it.

But the magical thing of the experience was what was happening to me! Words just came out so smoothly! I can't believe how my thoughts was singing in harmony with my words that little by little he was listening very intently and was smiling as he was realizing the truths I was sharing him. My beliefs, my values, rich attitude, millionaire mindset, and all other good stuff in this blog.

But for me this was for me the best part...

He asked. "Wait sir, lets talk about how can you actually get that 1 million."

"You see, before you get to the "how", you must clearly establish the "why". Why do you want to get the million? Okay, ask me why I want to get the 1 million"

He was smiling, and shaking his head and said, "Okay."

But I responded, "No, come on, ask me why do I want to get the 1 million."

"Okay, okay. Why do you want to get the 1 million?"

"I know how you feel right now. I know you feel so good about what we've been talking, am I right?"

He laughed and shook his head.

"You see, that feeling you have right now, if I don't have that million, I can create that feeling to only one person at a time. But I have that million I can inspire more people. With the million I can go to other islands and places and inspire people their. I can help more people, teach more people, and spread that very feeling you have right now to more and more people. And I cannot do that if don't have enough money......"

I paused. He smiled.

"And this is my "why". So you see, no matter what obstacle comes in my way, with this "why" nothing can stop me. I will achieve that million no matter what!"

That was not scripted. Not practiced. It just went out of my mouth deep from my heart.
And at the back of my head I can see how great it is to live your dreams.

38 Days More to Go - I Love My Job! Huh??

You got me right! I LOVE MY JOB!

After all the previous controversial posts - Wish I was a College Drop Out and My Confessions- I had a little twist on my mindset. You know, it's all a matter of looking at it. Rather than sourgrape and complain, I chose to take a different perspective. But why a sudden change?

I'm not just trying to training to be one great motivational speaker. I am into a new move...Coaching.

It all started after one of my employee forged a document to excuse her not reporting to our store but another store. Since its her first time, so what I did was counseling. But it turned out to be a life changing counseling.
'
She has been with the company for quite some time, so I was really expecting much from her. But unfortunately, she's showing attitude below standards. Burn-out and familiarity and no-fulfillment results into one employee who starts the "chatroom". And so what I did? Very simple. Told her frankly that she's one of the best, but not becoming one. Told her she has a lot of leadership potentials and I can guide her to become one. And empowered her with opportunities that make her more fulfilled of her work.

Ladies and gentlemen, I'm just so proud to say, I've got one employee back on track.

All these came out while I was reading the book Top Performance by Zig Ziglar. I have been really longing for one leadership book and this book was the answer to all my prayers.

At my work, one of the demotivating factors is the lack of someone I look up to. Maybe a there's one or two but no one has been really my idol at work. So I don't really see any point in staying long in the supervisor's station right after lunch. I just get out and read a book. And I don't really have a mentor or a REAL boss at work, a boss I'd offer myself to be harassed. None falls under my qualification. And also, there's not motivation going on. So its  really all by myself.

I used to say that no one is tapping my back. But Kuya reminded me not to worry because HE is tapping my back.

And so, hard to admit, I still belong to the rat race BUT I'm still making the best out of it or shall I say, exploiting it. I have all the opportunity to hone my leadership skills and all other things needed to become one effective people- manager. But still, Hanz remember, this is just a STAGE where I need to go through, I should keep track on my goal. Savor every moment. Be optimistic of every moment.

39 Days Left - Why I Don't Watch TV Anymore

I don't watch TV anymore!!
I will only use it if I watch Movies that are WORTH MY TIME!

Here are my 8 reasons why I dont watch TV anymore:

1. NEGA-TV-TY.
I really get a strange feeling of negative energy oozing out of the television everytime news is aired. It's all about crime, violence, catasrophe, economic turmoil, and all other bad news. In result, it creates, "useless anxieties", you get stuck, you get afraid, pessimistic, and you become stagnant.

2. SEX, DRUGS, and VIOLENCE.
Why not LIFE, WEALTH, and HAPPINESS? You can't see these in telenovelas.

3. THERE'S NO BUSINESS LIKE SHOWBUSINESS
Why follow other peoples lives that people don't even know what's going on in the lives of their own sons and daughters! The life behind the screens of their movies is still business! They are only making a fool of people following them. And you see, the lives you are following are lives with divorce, adultery, intrigues, scams, love triangle! And they stick to it every Sunday afternoon! Why not follow the lives of actors/actresses SUCCEEDING in life makind a difference to the world! oh, are their any?

4. EMPTINESS
When was the last time that you watched a TV show and you felt so good about yourself, or you learned something great that made you so motivated to action, or it changed your life???

5. TIME SPENT ILL
With all the time spent in watching TV did it "produce" something good out of it? Or the day just went by faster?

6. MAKES YOU FEEL SO SMALL
Aside from the fact that most TV figures negatively affect people's self-esteem, TV makes the icons there on top of their world and you are just below, one of their million fans. Your world revolves around them. But actually, you should be the one on top of your world!

7. IT'S NOT REAL
TV creates a world with the main objective of creating money, not for you, but for themselves. Ask yourself this, imagine you are in a big house, with all cameras around it, and the whole world watching at you, what will you do? Okay so you say you will try to be yourself, to be who you really are. But don't forget everything else it not! All the challenges they give, the scenarios, are designed to create a show that will keep people on watching and texting and create them more money! Its a REALITY but its a TV.

8. TV IS NOT MADE FOR YOU..ITS FOR THE NETWORKS, ADVERTISERS AND PRODUCTIONS
At the end of the day, who is happier, fulfilled, and richer? You or the TV networks, actors, and producers?

-------------------------------------------

"So who cares, if I watch TV...what's with all this fuss??!"
Actually, no one cares.

Just don't stick too much on the boob tube.
And make sure you're not missing the other great things the REAL world has to offer.
(except for the World Cup and Kerygma TV though, got no choice! hehehe)

41 Days More - I Wish I Was a College Drop-Out

"Have you been absent lately?"
"Nah, not yet, I don't want to skip classes, our prof told us he'd give additional .3 to our grades if we would never miss a class."
"Really? .3 is big enough! I won't skip classes too!"
"Good. I'll try my best to be on the dean's list this semester."
"Oh, I'm pretty sure you'll get it."
"I want to become a CPA like my father, take it as a pre-law too. Imagine, I'm a CPA and also a lawyer!"
"Awesome!"

I had a smirk while listening to these two college boys while in the locker room of the gym. Oh, I really miss going to school. And if I'd get a chance, oh boy, will I cut classes!

Back in college my world was the library. Lets say, I'm more of a nerd, a nerd hunk to be exact. hehehe There were only 3 places I know in school, the classroom, the Campus Ministry Office, and the Library. But I spent most of my time in my kingdom - the library.

I was pretty diligent too, never missed a class, attentive in discussions, cursed myself if I get 3 mistakes in an exam, I studied and read a lot, I was the typical A-student. And so I graduated an A-student. And everybody was happy. But looking back, shocks! I missed most of the good part. Hanging out and wasting time with friends, laughed out loud, group cutting classes, being scolded for trying something new, ran off to play games, and a whole lot more. And right now, I regret, I'll never ever have a chance to experience them.

Sad part here, though I became an A-student obviously I ended up an A-employee. Great job, great pay, and of course GREAT responsibilities. But no matter what I do, I'm still an employee UNDER an employer UNDER the punch card UNDER the 15 day salary cycle UNDER someone who gets rich everyday because I work hard for them. Not the freedom I expected from an A-person like me.

Another "sadder" part here is that only about 10% of what the A-student learned was applied to his being an A-employee. Ouch! Where's the 90%? In the trash bin together with the test papers!

(Oops, the optimistic Hanz has something to say, "Thanks to the training you had with your professors and collegues, you were able to sharpen the right attitude though. And don't forget, thanks to becoming an A-student you became an A-employee -hehehe- and so you had just enough salary to support your family!"
"Okay, 'get your point" the writing Hanz agreed.)

And I regret, "If only I was learning in college what I am learning right now, then I would've been an enlightened millionaire in 7 days!! I could've been an A-employer already! I would've developed my core gifts earlier and I could've touched millions of lives at my age right now!"

Listening to those two teens, inside me was screaming to tell them, "Don't take it too seriously, skip classes time and again, enjoy college. You don't need all those stuff to succeed! Drop out boys

Oh well, I wished someone was telling me those words when I was in college.

(But wait, the optimistic Hanz has something to say, "Remember Hanz, someone still has to become a teacher, an engineer, a CPA and a lawyer, right? The world needs them! So just chill..everything has a reason.")

43 Days More - The Super Amazing Power of Choosing

We already distributed our shirts!!! Wohoooo!!
It's June 18 and we distributed our shirts in a middle of a concert Fete de la Musique held at the Ayala Terraces! Imagine, with super cool bands, and all the lights and all the crowd. (Actually, we never thought that there would be a concert held on that day! Great!)
And you know,  how many came?

ONLY 6!

Of the 20 who ordered only 6 came! Imagine?

Not bad for starters eh?
We didn't really expect that a only this few came but hey, we had one great mini reunion. We really had a lot of catching up to do with our classmates back in the seminary. Talkin' about the good ol' days is just wonderful!

You see, we really are very optimistic of this. We would really say to ourselves, nothing can stop us!
Dro was even running on time because our printer started working on it 6 hours before the scheduled release due to some setbacks. We released the shirts an hour late of our set schedule. But still we are positive that we'll find a way of having these picked up. Discouragement is not in our vocabulary!

Today, I choose to CHOSE.

No matter what happens, bad or good, it's still up to me on what would I do about it. This is one great lesson I learned when I got a copy of Zig Ziglar's book, Top Performance...

In life we chose, whether to react to life - which is negative. Like for example, if the doctor said that the medicine you took reacted on you then that's not a good symptom. But if we respond to life - which is positive then it's the other way around. When the doctor says that you respond to your medicine, then that's an indication that you are healing.

So no matter what happens in this shirt business, we would respond to it no matter what! People not showing up, messy prints, cellphone loads going zero, we won't react, we respond! And for me, this is the best way to succeed in business, and also in life.

(I started applying this today at work, and hey, with all the headaches lately of peoples attitudes, today was brighter!)

So how about you, will you respond or will you react?

46 Days More - Win-Win in a Win-Lose World

Practicing Win-win in these times is just a tough challenge!

A week ago, I offered a split-win-win of deal between our other branch with a wholesale of one customer, they double-crossed us.

Months ago, a customer broke a 5k worth of vase which he accidentally kicked. Screamed at us. I offered win-win, begged she would pay, even just half the price knowing our in-charge who was just their standing assisting them would get from her pocket the other pay, but she got away clean. She would pay only if we see each other in court because she's a lawyer. So everybody in the department paid for the 5k including me.

Yesterday, I faced one angry customer. She bought a plastic table and a few minutes later came back and returned the table saying that there was a crack! And yes it was there. As standard, my team would always check all possible reasons for that to occur. Three of my personnel, the one who assisted, the one who took the item from the bodega and our check-out confirmed that when they packed the item it was all clear. And if they'd notice anything they'd obviously see it.

She breaked all hell loose, raising her voice and started to tremble really bad. I was just patient, trying to ask her all questions as to what had happened, made a clear walk through. But she shouted at me asking what am I implying if I continue to ask questions, that she caused to break it? "I am a professional, if I was the one who broke it, I wouldn't have asked to replace it!"

So who did?

I continued to ask questions as it is part of making an incident report so that we won't be the one to pay the damaged table. I tried to test her and until she reached her limit, maybe a little conscience would whisper at her. In a while, she did...reach her limit  And so I decided to have the item exchanged.

All I really want was a win-win. If she really did break it, all I need is the details of what happened so that I can make a decent report. She gets her table back, and we make it clean that we are not liable of the damage.

After that, I traced the exits where they went prior to noticing the damage for they reported that it was the security guard who noticed it. And so I did in all exits. And found out that, none of our guards saw a damaged table.

My conclusion. They passed through our guards, becuase in their receipts there was a stamp, damaged the item outside in riding the taxi, rushed back, talked all the bull, screamed at everyone, lied at me, and went home happy and glorious, and would be "chismising" to their friends of their triumphant endeavor in our store.

But inspite all this, I am happy and I am proud that I am different from them. I don't need to step on people just to get what I want. I don't need to scream and treat them with disrespect because they are just salesclerks. I think win-win. And I do win-win. I manage 112 personnel and all my decisions are win-win. It's very tough in this business but hey, I'm different. I'm proud. I'm effective. I'm clean. I'm a Winner. A True Winner.

47 Days More - Upcoming Best Selling Author

A string of amazingly God-designed events lead me into where I am at this very moment. Writing as a co-author of Bo Sanchez new book. Imagine??? I was a nobody a month ago, and right now, I'm working on this big project! Part time!

Like, what I said in my previous post how I figured out my talents, being a jack-of-all trades but master of none, I have pointed out my best option for a life skill - my Public Speaking and Writing Skills. Perusing through Bo's blog I found one of his past article, How to Fulfill Your Life Purpose, on how to identify your life mission. All you need to answer this 2 important questions:

1. What do you love to do?
2. Where do you excel?

As in the jack of all trades post, I wrote a bunch of talents I have - art, music, etc. and they boiled down to two - writing and public speaking. (Wait, I would like to officially change public speaking into Preaching. I found out how lousy I am at being an emcee - public speaking, but I ace at teaching and training people!) Luckily, my writing and preaching skills are the things I excel at!! And you know what, these are also the skills Bo's top skill in his talent inventory!!

That's why writing this book, has been such an amazing experience! I may have doubts on this venture, but no one's gonna stop me from striking on this! If this goes well, of which it will do, then this is really what I've been looking for!

Each and every day, life has been more meaningful!

I'll tell you more about the book soon!!

48 Days to Go - Many Believed I am a Scam

Yep! I have been trying to analyze why traffic is always low in this blog. I checked at feedjit, and lo! I only have so few a visitors from Facebook. Where are my classmates? my colleagues?  my friends? (gosh, I forgot, I never had that a lot of friends back then, loner Hanz) Not much is interested with what I'm into. They missed that this is a transition of a life time! Oh, I pity them... I got this God Whispers from Bo Sanchez exactly right after thinking of over this...

Dear Hanz,
Be content with what you have, but never be content with who you are.  When you go about earning money, it isn't money that you really seek, but the growth of character that you build in you.

Keep growing,
God

P.S. Many do the opposite: They're content with who they are but very discontented with what they have.  Be different,Hanz.

This is my God Whispers for today.

Amazing, right? I'm really amazed of every time I open my God Whispers I always read thoughts that exactly suite to my current situation. And this time, the 90 day challenge continued to build in pressure in me, most especially in the legendary war between my work and the opportunities I miss while being there! Inside of me has this burning fire that says, "You're worth more than this! Never be content with who you are right now!"

I would like to quote the PS.:

P.S. Many do the opposite: They're content with who they are but very discontented with what they have.  Be different,Hanz.

They do the opposite. Hanz is different.

54 Days More - The Truth About the Secret

I know most of us have read or watched "The Secret". So I'm pretty sure you can relate on this post. But if you haven't well...hmmmmm...secreeeeeeeeeettttt...

For 2 years I have been applying the Law of Attraction. Wanna know where? when? and how?
Before riding a jeepney!!!
(a public transportation vehicle in the Philippines)

At first, I didn't believe it but if I'll never try, I'll never know. It started with curiosity, trying to see if this Law of  Attraction really works. After taking a shower in going to work I would visualize that as I am coming near the waiting shed of our  village, the jeepney for my route would already be there waiting for me.

You see, there are only two jeepneys available for my route 10H and 10C. The former is usually filled with passengers because it goes to SM Supermall, and it's also the best route in going to the north of Cebu. While the latter has the fewest trips in our town. So getting on time at work has is quite a challenge for me.

And so I did my visualization, even in my way to our gate and out and walking to the shed. For the first week. It was inconsistent. Sometimes there's luck while sometimes none. But on to the following week, it happened straight for 3 days. Motivated, I continued until everyday the jeepney - with a big smile - I would hop in the jeep without waiting for more than a minute.

It even came to a point where I can literally ask a 10H to wait for me rather than a 10C. And when I asked for a 10C. Lo! There it is!

Then I got an idea. Why not try it on the pedicab? A bicycle with a cab that is the usual transportation in a village. Just on my first try, I got cabs waiting for me!

I literally felt powerful....for a time.

I noticed that there would be times that things are not just working out the way it is. I powerfully focus and visualize but when however still I get to walk out of the village on foot under the sun or I would be waiting for 15 minutes just for a jeepney. Worst, I get late!!!

Thinking and looking at it. I figured out what's wrong...

1. I missed my visualizations and focus. Obviously, it won't work.
2. But this is the main loophole, I usually miss the jeepney or get late when I leave home 30 minutes before my time at work!!

Of course!!!!!

This is my discovery about the truth on the Law of Attraction:
No matter how much you focus and visualize, if you don't help yourself and you take no action, you'll never get it!

And so I have to end this post so that I could sleep early and wake up early and leave for work early so that when I visualize powerfully I can dictate the universe that the jeepney that would be waiting for me would be a 10H - color blue!
