22 Days Left - Making the Impossible, Possible

One of the best life discovery is when you realize that the seemingly impossible, is really possible.

That's what happened.

I never thought God would give me an opportunity to take on the-most-feared-strong-despised-blamed-tiger-but-people-never-knew-they-were-wrong manager of our company. At her discouraging time, God invited me, "Hanz, this is your time, inspire her, let me do my work through you!"

I did hesitate. At first I was afraid, I was petrified. (lyrics?) It's like trying to motivate a wall to move. But hey, I won't lose anything. And so what I did, I barged into their conversation as she was trying to express her dismay and simply offered her to read the book "The Way of The Shepherd". And I was amazed that she accepted it.

You see. When I started working there, I was at times disappointed of how she manages things. It was like trying to make life miserable for us. She was this type who really sticked to the rules, no matter what! She also has this look - the same look I have that made one applicant exclaimed at me, "Sir, hadlok jud ko nimo.", "Sir, I'm really afraid of you."

But being my immediate superior, as I get to spend more time with her than any other supervisor of my level, I came to understand her thinking and her ways. Her weakness that drove people nuts was also her strength that made her good on her job.

We continued with our conversation. She finally exclaimed that she would resign. I offered her the book with the goal in mind that if only she would combine her way of strict monitoring and the principles of leadership found in the book she will become one great leader.

I also found out that one of her "loves" was to audit! No wonder! I asked her as an assignment to figure out her loves - core gifts and figure out too her goals - in detail. I explained that this is the first step we should do before just exclaiming to resign.

I can't wait to get back to her answers. I'll be texting her Feel Great qoutes too. I also challenged her to finish the book in one sitting. I can't wait.

By the way, you know what was the seemingly impossible that became possible? She called out...
"Hanz, my new advisor"

49 Days to Go - System Down

System Down! System Down! Alert! Alert!

For the first time in weeks, I came home without opening the laptop. System Down!
No, not the laptop, me!

I really didn't notice but I have been sleeping less than 5 hours straight for 5 days. So my body got it's toll. I started having a hard time comprehending things, missed out the words, I can't even speak in plain straight english already and I became so irratable. Like in the jeepney, I was about to elbow the person beside me on his face because of his smelly armpit, and I almost damaged the bar handle of the jeepney because I was hammering my coin for his music is too loud and lousy. People stared at me.

When I got home, took a bath, prayed and dozed off immediately. I promised myself that it would be the last time I'd get myself into that kind of mess.

"If you lose your sleep, you lose a lot: you lose your temper, you lose your creativity, you lose your comprehension, you lose the magic, you lose the great moments life has to offer, you lose the essence of time, you lose the opportunity, and you lose yourself."

70 Days to becoming a Millionaire - Starting the Business

I'm very very very excited becuase we're starting a business! For REAL! Not the repacking of peanuts nor dealing of dried mangoes nor selling nachos to kdis..this is the BIG DEAL!

The "Feel Great Shirt" is really starting to come to life. We had another meeting just tonight with the core members - Kuya, John, Kuya Raoul, and Me. There is no official name yet but we are all eyeing on "Feel Great Shirt". A top of the line thsirts that has motivational and inspirational quotes on print.

Our theme is to keep it simple. Maybe a 1 or 2 colors just to keep all attention towards the text and the message behind it. Fancy shirts now-a-days turns to divert the attention of people to the colors and to the design. But with our Feel Great Shirt's simplicity it will catch the attention of people as they are forced to read the text on the shirt. Then and there can we accomplish our main objective of inspiring people and sharing to the world the blessings we received as we have learned and lived the quotes all our lives.

The highlights of tonights meeting is to state what we can commit to the business. We were to choose from capitals - the start-up money, industrial - operations of making the shirt, and sales/marketing - could be online or direct selling. In my case,, with my 6-day work week and packed 8-hours industrial is a challenge. In capital though, my budget is not yet enough. So I commit myself to help in selling and marketing. Good thing I still have contacts to campuses and universities so this would be my target market.

Kuya still included me as a shareholder however they would take the burden of my capital contribution in the start-up while my first sales would be used to pay them for covering me up. One good deal.

All hopes and energies are focused on this one, but I'm still open for my daily strikes.

Strikes for today:
- I found a good source to get slightly damaged branded watches - lose contact, loose locks, damaged mechanism, lost screw. With the super slash-off on the price this would be an interesting buy and sell venture.
- I'm looking at the possibility of moneylending. I cant avoid the fact that there are times some of my team members would be asking for extra cash for their needs. But, I'm really uneasy on this. Good thing, Kuya promised we'll talk more about it the next time.
